    Several questions:
    - Dailies or Grinding? (I havent got the gold guide yet - so I dont know how to “play the AH :D”
    - Selling ore or prospecting? (Saronite, Titanium etc.)
    - Should I always undercut the competitor’s prices, or buy their stock and create a monopoly? Which is more time-efficient?

I have some gold (1000+) to play the auction with, but how do you choose what to buy and sell. I am on a couple different servers and find that the auction demands are quite different. For example, I bought all the mageweave cloth I could and re-sold it for 25-50% profit, unfortunately I had to keep lowering my price as “farmers” would undercut me all the time and there was quite a flow on one server, but on the other server there was virtually no cloth to buy so it was much nicer to work on that one.

I do have auctioneer as well. What other add-ons would your recommend for auctioning etc.

Nice job on the videos as well I find your script to be easy to listen to as well as informative.

What addons would you recommend in addition to auctioneer? Referring to your preview videos, do you think crafting-professions like tailoring and jewelcrafting can be good gold-makers?

Im a long time player and long time broke player. At the core of your guide do you illustrate and make clear how I can get a handle on observing the key factors that will make a difference to earning gold through your system. So guides at the core are lists of items to buy/grind/find and it all amounts to no fun. I feel like your videos are heading towards the system rather than the items. I like that. its just what all of us ghetto broke players need.

I hate losing the multi-gold AH deposits on higher end gear if it doesn’t sell. What is the best day to sell weapons/armor and what is the best guide to price setting?

What is your average profit made from playing the AH in one day, and the average profit made from playing the AH for one week?

This would be very useful statistics for me to see what I should be aiming to get!

I’ve found that more frequently now, people are pricing things way to high and nothing seems to be selling, even if i am undercutting them. Should i simply wait for a few weeks for the prices to come back down? or try to sell it now and eat the deposit if it doesn’t sell?

    i got a few questions:
is it required to have a certain amount of gold? or will people be able to start from scratch?
    will any addons be needed?
you say 10k gold can be earned a week, but does that count for people that use only 1 pipeline, or only if you use several pipelines?

    Ok so here’s my question:

If I buy an item that’s undercutting at the moment, and then directly re-sell it, how do I make a profit from that? I DON’T. Second, If I buy an item that is above market price and resell it, how do I make a profit off of that? I DON’T. So… what is the point being here? I do understand the… reasoning behind it.. but what am I supposed to DO with the item, if I can’t make money back off of it?

Is there a way to have Auctioneer automatically purchase low? I there a time during the week when there an overall trend of lower cost to purchase? Is there a time during the week when there is an overall trend of things selling at a premium?

Is it better to have two farming trade skills, one farming and one manufacturing, or two manufacturing trade skills?

I imagine, in the short term that two farming skills will make money quicker but what about the long haul?

i have seen several guides and done plenty of research about how to make gold.. i basically see 3 routes to choose from… the dailies route … the farming route… and the buy the low items and sell for a higher profit route…

with that being said by combining all 3 of these routes into your daily WoW playing time of course you would be online for much more than an hour a day and possibly end up doing just those things all day; but wouldn’t this be even MORE effective still at making money and ending up with thousands of gold?

    for the T.L.D.R. version

by combining dailies, farming, and buying items with buy low sell high technique couldn’t we make even MORE money comparatively to using just one or two of these mentioned techniques combined?

How do you usually deal with morons, Jon?

You know the type. The ones that come online and conclude that “ahhh, it’s Tuesday, today’s undercuts will be by 50%!”.

I try and try, but they seem to be able to crash any market I try out. :(

I have been playing wow for almost 4 1/2 years now, and up until wotlk i have had almost no problems playing the auction house, but i feel now so many people are farming items it is almost impossible to keep up. How do you mange all this competition and should i start looking at maybe more rare items instead of the traditional mats/rep items.

From what I’ve read on various websites in regards to “gold-making”, farming seems to be one of the most effective ways of going about it. Are there any special guides out there that you can recommend involving farming various items (including any kind of cloth, which is a given :) )? Also, where are some good places to find rare items that sell wonderfully on the AH?

I’m not a noob when it comes to WOW so any suggestions of locations, I’ve most likely heard of. Also, I have tried Auctioneer but still haven’t mastered it yet. Your guides so far have been helpful in understanding how the add-on works the best. I’m sure it’ll help me get the means to buy what I want soon enough :)

Thanks very much for the vids. Very helpful.
I am still pretty new to Auctioneer though and all of the features are quite daunting.

In game i go over many of the aspects of the game from PvP, to dungeons and raids, Questing, Whatever it is I really do a bit of it all. The Thing i have had the largest problem with in game is GOLD. I generally make around 300-400g in a week from action house buying and reselling, raiding, and light farming. From the videos i have seen i have probably increased my gold income 200g just with auction house, still a long way from 10,000g lol, but the point is i am interested in your product. NOW MY ACTUAL QUESTION IS: Should i just stick to auction house buying and selling or should i continue to farm 4 gold. Knowing that i hate farming?

In your guide you talk about Pipelines, i’ve tried following your methods but my realm is tricky, nothing is worth buy and re-selling because the profit isnt worth it, even titansteel bars on my realm sell for 150g lowest and 160g highest. even other items dont sell well, on the method i make say 100g a week profit, what should i be looking for exactly and how do i know if i found the right item at the right price?

The question that has been killing me is this:

How exactly do you know where to start when first starting the blueprint methond?

What i mean here is, how do you know what items exactly to buy in order to start making profit?

I have been trying to fin great deals on items, but it always seems that i am getting undercut on all the items that i start posting. Within 1 hour of my item being on the AH, i am getting drastically undercut by 1 person. Then, another person will undercut him and my auction(s) end up expiring. Please help.

I would like to know how you profit from monopoly? If you have 200,000+ gold, is it not possible to manipulate the market and control it completely?

I imagine some items are not easily managed since they can be “harvested infinitely” like mining and herbalism. But stuff like enchanting materials should be possible to control?

In general: Which gold-making options ‘unlock’ when you reach 6 digits worth of gold?

I make on average 550g/day from the AH which I thought was pretty decent. You have stated I can make 10,000g/week which is around 1400g/day. Thinking about the things I do to get what I get now, I can’t really see there being something so paramount that I’m missing out on. Without leaving a huge question like “how?”, I’m going to leave the question. Is the amount you make considerably effected by the population of your server?

Here is my one important question,
Every time I read or look up ways to make gold it always involves buying and selling other peoples items from the Auction House. I want to know if there is an easy, efficiant, and fast way to get gold without looking through the Auction House for cheap scraps to resell.

When you have multiple, same, items, e.g. 20 stacks of mithril ore…What would you do to sell them?
    1) Do you list them all at the same time and same price?
    2) Do you list them all at the same time at diff prices to see which on sells the most at a particular price?
    3) Do you only list 2 or 3 at a time and sell the others the next day or later that same day?

How do you combat against “newbies” destroying market pipelines by posting several items at ridiculously low prices just to make a few quick gold?

At first i figured they would gradually give up and move one, but most of my profit making pipelines are being destroyed by these newbies that catch on to what i am trying to do and flood the market to turn a quick gold instead of both of us making a lot of gold.

Any suggestions on how to fight back would be nice. or maybe its best to move on.

What if some of the items, for example arctic fur, were on the AH for a ridiculously high price? And nobody undercut the item? Then how would you make any profit, or get anyone to buy your item? And have you considered differences in the AH prices between different servers?

Ok so i’m the casual wow player who just throws up greens and mats onto the AH undercutting by a few silver. This works in some cases, but I always seem to log back on, and find about 1/3 of the auctions to sell and 2/3 be sent back to me. I have the auctioneer mod to scan and see what I can generally sell an item for. MY QUESTION to you is how do I use this powerful mod to find the “pipelines” and take full advantage of them? and also how do you know when to buy and when to sell? It seems very hard to predict when the prices will hit the bottom and when they hit a high enough for a good selling price. Thanks for making the sample videos, they have helped me make 1.5k in a week on my level 49 pally. keep them coming, I want to know more =)thanks.

I’ve flipped through several gold guides in the past, and thus far they haven’t really done what they said they would. I’ve tried their strategies, but for the most part they recommend skinning and mining or herbalism and just selling what I pick up. I want to know: how can I make all of the gold I need without devoting HOURS to making gold?

I really enjoy WoW and would like to continue to enjoy it without feeling like a slave to making gold. Also, how do you figure out what people are willing to pay for an item? You talk about buying low and selling high enough to make 30-50g profit per item on some things, but how do you figure out what that cap is that people are willing to pay?

Also, when you play the AH, do you find that your buying habits start to shift the market? When you buy up all of the titansteel bars, for example, for 110g each, and then sell them for 180g+, do you find that prices start to shift upwards? And if they do shift, do those price become permanent, or do they settle back down after a while?

    Thanks!

I have 3 toons all on one server (Feathermoon, US) with a combined amount of 2k gold. I am a skinner on all my toons, on my main(lvl 69 NEH) a LW and on the other two an herbalist and miner. I have made the most profit selling pets on my server (i.e. white kitten), but have noticed that mostly “purple and blue” items are the biggest sellers (and most profitable items) on my server. With work and school, I don’t have much time to play per day, so I have several questions:
    1) What do you do when one player (or the same several players) are constantly putting up 4-10 listings of the same item daily, and you want to sell that item as well? Should you undercut, or buyout their items and resell?
    2) If you only have auctioneer, and limited gold (say you have 100g on one toon), what is the best way to find out which items make the most sense to pipeline?
3)People on my server for the most part are cheapskates and don’t want to spend more than 100% of value for almost any item (unless they are purple or blue), how can I efficiently sell “white and green” items for maximum profit, in this situation?

Thanks for your videos and advice!

In my own mind, I’m decent at generating gold using the AH. I currently have about 12kg on hand, and all I make is being spent on alts. However, I’ve never been able to break the 20kg mark. My usual methods are stuck at about 200g a day total.

So my question - for what you would call a Advanced Gold maker, how do I make the leap to Massive Gold Generation? 10k+ a week, and having 150k+ on hand etc.

I’ve seen some ppl “buying the market and owning it”. They buy all the items of one kind and makes sure they are the only `seller on the market. If someone undercut them, they simpley just buy the item and sell it at the price they choose.

I know this will need a lot of money, but it sounds like a risky, but profitable way of owning the AH?

    Jon,
How do I fine tune the settings in Auctioneer (or any addon really) to make it find the items that will sell and at the right price for snatching them up and then repost them at the highest possible selling price?
There are a lot of statistical settings in these addons and while I have enough math to understand what the numbers are I don’t really know how changing them will affect how the AH addon works. And being a minimum effort AH scanner, I like to start Auctioneer scanning then ALT-Tab out and do some other work, it’s in my best interest to make it do as much work automatically as I can to minimize the manual effort required in amassing all my gold :)

Id love to hear your opinion on the natural weekly fluctuation of market prices - we all know prices drop on the weekend, I know I usually make my highest profit sales after the weekely resets, but even so when you heve a lot of weekend gamers flooding the market with an excess of cheap materials, its hard to make a profit on some pipelines - I once blew 4k gold on trying to control the prices of essences, but inevitably the prices kepts going down regarldess of how much money I threw at the proiblem. I hope to make more cash on them when the next raid is out, but until then, it was a bad investment.

I would love to know what strategies and what advice you can give for making money over the weekend (which traditionally spills over somewhat into friday afternoon and mondays) when prices on everything drops so drastically and profit margins shrink a lot as a result of it.

And what shall i do if i buy an item for really low gold and i’m gonna re-list it ? should i undercut my compition, or sell higer that my compition, or sell it for around the same price?

    Jon,

Some of these posts make me wonder how serious others are about actually wanting to make gold since you have already answered many of the questions in your free videos.

I currently fit into your “Advanced” gold maker category and want to move past the day to day question of “What in the world is selling low today so that I MIGHT make a little profit reposting it”. What addon/database/website do you use to find the statistical data necessary to discover a pipeline? Also, what attributes do you use to conclude if a pipeline should be used as a primary or secondary money maker and which ones should be avoided altogether?

Thanks for the free videos. The theory of what you have done has already helped me to start thinking outside of the box about just buying low and selling high.

I do have a question about auctioneer itself. I periodically take a break from wow for sometime and on occasion when I come back the economy on my server has changed so much that auctioneer does not represent the actual values of items.

How does one go about deleting the current database to store a new one? I have tried using auctioneer’s /auctioneer clearall function with now luck.

Also, how do you feel about setting oneself up with several products in which they have a controlling share in the market and can directly influence prices?

My question is for the serious WOW players that also have families and jobs and thus have limited time to do the research to make MASSIVE gold. Is your MGB 3.0 program videos and start up time suitable for us full time everything else folks who love playing WOW??

I am a total noob when it comes to making gold and I’ve sadly been playing since vanilla. I’ve never had the gold to even get epic flight…i’ve won the proto drake from cot several times but cannot ride it. It’s utterly emberassing. I have a hard time buying low and selling high as I play one of the most populated servers in game and the market fluxuates so much each day… I’m talking arctic furs selling for 100g a pop one day only to drop to 25g the next. Do I wait for those low times and buyout as much as I can and resell when it goes up? How can I do this if I don’t have much more than 500g at any given time and need that gold for raid prep. And I mean I have two gathering professions so idk what my problem is. 450 skinning and mining. Problem with skinning is the price of borean leather really ain’t worth the grind and I have crap luck with fur drops.

    Hello jon! My question is:
Should i try to farm for rare pets, or try making some at the AH with buy low sell high technique ? I once got a pet thatvi sold for 3k and it was worth 3-10000k or more…yet im all the time learning more about the auction house

and one more question…why is it that so few of so many discover these awesome gold making techniques, when its so hard for other players to “make a living in game” or so…
Is it just luck? Or do those people just study hard about wow gold making.

P.S its awesome that you share some of your nollige about making gold for free. Ur awesome :)

on my server (thunderhorn) the price of mithril ore and bars has made a drop from 100g a stack to 40g a stack in the ah. Would u say this is a good time to place mithril at the higher price or would you recommend putting them at a price just a bit higher then 40g?

    Jon,

You mention several times to sell at a price that players are willing to pay. My question is, how do you find that price point?

I have turned off the undercut function in Auctioneer, and it seems to work ok. But I think that I should be setting my prices higher. How do you determine what that price is, without spending a lot of money in fees?

How do you find out which items can be placed repeatedly at very favourable prices in the AH with no deposit charge, so it doesn’t matter how often they are re-submitted as you don’t lose money, like most items, if they are not sold? (Means you can set a high price and not worry if it is not sold for a while.. e.g. Arcane Dust)

If grinding, where is the best place including old raiding. BT turns out a lot of gold for 5 80’s

If doing dailies, what dailies are they highest gold per hour?

Professions - is there one or two above and beyond the rest for making gold

Auctioneer - how do i make it work better. it seems the numbers fluctuate and updates make it worst at times. histories seem inaccurate at times, is it the preloaded database set for all realm avg as opposed to actual realm. is there a way to get realm history only. My question is there an autioneer guide and/or how can I learn more about how to use autioneer? at times i just become frustrated with it, though yes, i always use it :-)

    Any ways, here’s the question(s) I have,

I’ve been looking for pipeline items but everything I look up is always priced high, always. So I was just wondering where should I look for an item that can be used in a such a manner. Also, right now my main is rather broke and needs help getting his money back up. I was wondering what items should/would some one with no money or a new player want to choose from?

Is their a trick to this whole thing that I am missing?? Is it a combination of things necessary to make the 1000 a day gold??
Are there any suggestions you can make regarding the efficiency of buying/selling vs dailies/grinding/profits from professions. Buying and selling seems to require hours of research. Let alone the time it takes to acquire the goods you want to sell; providing you know exactly what to sell for the best profits. It only takes a few hours to make 300+ gold from my dailies/and professions with no research needed or spending more than a few minutes in the ah.
Thank you for your video’s, they have been a good starting place for me to look into making more gold more efficiently.

Hi Jon, I’ve been playing since closed beta and I have used other guides in the past, most other players don’t have as many high level characters with high level professions so this question really hasn’t been answered in other guides, but I’m torn on thinking on a mindset of thinking outside of the box, whether if it’s profitable or not.

Often times other guides talk about converting items lets say buying crystallized earth and making it a into eternal earth. This is the simple way of conversion, but for people like me who have many professions, I’m thinking about conversions from one profession to another, lets say, for example, since I’m a tailor, that infinite dust and frostweave cloth are cheap on the; auction house, i buy them, is it more profitable to sell them at a later date at a higher price or is it better to take these items, combine them and create bolts of imbued frostweave?

Not many other guides go deep into this kind of thinking, mainly because most people want to make gold fast without high level toons and leveling time consuming professions. But for people like me who have many high level professions, is there big profit to in doing this, and is there other ways to make big profit with many characters with many professions?

Thank you for your preview videos, I appreciate what you are doing, they’ve been tremendously helpful.

    Thanks,
    Clifford

I have loved your videos and they have really helped (although I admit I have not done them to the fullest extent). My question has to do about constant undercutters. I use yor tactics about trying to keep prices high by matching the price and lowering the bid, and that works in general. Where I have a problem is when a barrage of people constantly undercut by MASSIVE amounts. Generally I use this as a buying opportunnity, but when they dump tons and tons, I run out of space and money buying, plus then I am not able to sell at my price. any suggestions?

The Blueprint seems to be based on Pipeline items. How much warehousing is needed for this? Since you’re generally waiting on prices to go high so you can sell.

Also, do you spend a lot of time waiting on prices (and buyers) to become favorable? Sometimes I wonder whether making less profit could actually increase total throughput and overall profits.

    sorry for double post–

i just thought of a few more questions…

    1. i know the easiest way to post/repost multiple auctions in the AH is with auctioneer and one of it’s functions… and i hate to admit it … but auctioneer is a very confusing addon for me. Is there anyway you could make a vid on how to use auctioneer to it’s fullest potential? or at least how to make auctioneer work for you (the player)?

    2. Have you ever ran across someone on one of the servers that you play on who is using the Blueprint as well or is it even obvious that they are?

    hello,

if we follow your methods and the items do not sell do we relist them or hold onto them until the market settles down? I see you have made vast amount of gold, but how much is lost due to fact that some things do not sell, and do you always put a bye out price. Also is best to let your banker be in hos own guild if possible to store all the items

    Hey there Jon!

First I’d like to say a big THANK YOU! for the videos that you’ve uploaded, they have helped me out alot in lately and I understand the action house a bit better. And also your “Pipelines” are awesome!
I do however have just 1 question that I’d love for it if you could reply. :)

I understand that prices change alot; I have been stockpiling alot of Infinite Dust and Greater Cosmic Essences over the last week (spent around 3k on these mats) as the prices have gone down; so my question is: Would you say to resell them now, or wait longer and see if the prices go back up again, even at a risk that they may decrease? Also, would you suggest to stop buying them out for now; as the prices may never go back up I’d lose out on gold, even though the prices might be going back up. They’ve currently gone to about half the price of what they used to be.

If you decide to answer this question, (or a question which relates to this in any way), it’ll be highly appreciated!

Also, thanks again for making these superb videos! I’m sure everyone here loves you for them. :D Looking forward to seeing more.

Best of luck in the future mate. Thanks again!

This all sounds good, but my question is that how would you sell an item, lets say titansteel bar, if its always up on the market, being sold for lower then what you want to sell it at, and you don’t have the money to buy all of it then re-sell at your price…its great to wait and all but, like waiting for 2-5 days (re-post and new posts) for all the competition’s bars to sell isn’t really effective. this happens a lot on my server, the best items to sell (priciest; arctic fur, saronite ore/bar, ect) are always on stock….well whenever I’m on anyways. It really sucks because whenever I, lets say, price the titansteel bar at 160-180 gold, about 1 - 2 hours later theres like 5 people who undercut me for about 20-50 gold. And it’s way harder to do your guide on equips like weapons and armor.

So my question, well two questions, would be, is there a good and effective way to sell against undercutting competitions? And what’s easier to sell; popular pipeline/common items that most people will post on ah like titansteel bar/frostweave cloth, or those hard to get or rare(on ah) items like; in my server of stonemaul, mageweave cloth, goldern pearl, silk web(cloth)?

Oh and thanks for the videos, those vendor trash really helped my toon, which is on a new server, make enough gold to buy her the bags/skills she needed.

Using real world economics, your astute study of the Auction House and buying commodities makes sense. However, because of the fact that most of World of Warcrafts economy is based on the Auction House, would it be safe to assume that there is the possibility of an economic crisis (in game) if certain futures should plummet or a demand for the supply should decrease? If so, is there an alternate plan of action to take to help with potential loss? Let’s face it, there won’t be a bailout from Blizzard to anyone anytime soon.

    How much is too much?

When I get holiday items to sell later in the year, i always find myself buying those extra few items, and over time those extra few items always fill up my inventory and both my personal bank and Guild bank with unsellable stuff. This applies to pipelines too, i always buy a little too much and am unable to sell them later on.

I am a noob, only lv 25 and have 27 gold. How am I supposed to get started? what can I use for a low cost, low lv pipeline? This is really important since how is it worth it to me to buy this guide, if I can’t even start until I have a lot of gold?

Do you get really really annoyed with people asking questions that you already answered in your first three videos?

    What if I have 10 minutes? 30?

Is this activity more effective every day, or would it work better every other day?

Hi, I’ve been playing WoW for a few years now and got few level 80’s, but i’ve never had enough money to buy even 1 epic flying mount+skill, I dont know if I’m just helpless… I’ve never had enough money to get epic gems, enchants, items etc. that I really want, at this time I have around 1400gold, but I just cant get started, I tried to play around a bit with auction house but in the end I had few hundred golds less than I started with? That’s something… I didnt even try to have the lowest price in AH or anything, but in the end I didnt get anywhere, I just cant figure out what’s the problem. HELP! Would like to get somewhere and not just stay put and wait as everyone i know get’s enough money (slowly but still) for epic mounts etc. with farming elementals, that’s not something I want to spend hours and hours a day, as I have a normal life and more important things to do in WoW also. Thanks!

I’m below the typical player when it comes to making gold. I have no idea how to use the AH and I’v been playing for 2 years. I never really needed massive gold amounts until now. I’m trying to earn money for my level 68, what’s the best item to collect and sell in the AH for my level? Can I make massive money amounts at 68?

    Thank you,

Wow’s economy, like the real world economy, is an ever changing world. A buff here, an event there, a nerf over there and next thing you know the values of everything we took for granted or held in esteem change overnight. Given the propensity of a changing environment one would question the relevance of advise where the standards they are based on can change overnight. So my question is this…if it can be answered….

Out of all your techniques which ones have stood the test of time and which ones will carry me on to the future as World of Warcraft evolves as a game?

In any guide one must show the past to understand the present and a guide must be able to talk about the future so those who might be willing to invest in your product have something to look forward to.

Hey mate! I have few questions:
First, is it worth buying the mats off ah to make Random Darkmoon cards in order to get Nobles deck?
2: Which professions are the most profitable?
3: Do you think that you can earn alot of gold if you have like 4-5k spare and just buy all the Arctic furs in the action house and then resell all of them for 150g/piece(u got them for 50-130g/piece) and that way control the Arctic fur market?
4: I have like 9k gold but still i don’t think this is enough for me+ i made this 9k with a lot of hard work like days and weeks and weeks… Tell me where, how, when, in what to invest that gold to make a huuuuge profit out of it. As John Shadegg said:

the one thing i have always asked myself (just to let u know ive had some experience on playing the auction house from another guide) is HOW DO THESE GUYS EARN TONS? having tried out the other AH guide i still dont understand how i seem to only be making the few 100-200 gold while others have achieved 10k in a week!!

Im really interested in the way people say ‘homing in on BIG deals’. i think this is a skill i am still yet to develop and as you say in ur preview videos, ‘an important skill is to be able to make the MOST profit, not just the amount you can get from undercutting etc.’ i think this is a skill in which i am lacking some general knowledge and it would be awesome if somehow i would find a guide that would take me step by step into making my first 1000 gold and introducing me in the most understandable way to all the techniques the BIG PROS use. i know that this can extremely hard as a realms economy is an ever changing thing, but still, not neccessarily tell me what to but etc. but to just gimme an insight into the making of your first few 1k gold.

so, after this, the question should be:

How come i can only earn so much when so many people that have only even seen the preview videos of the guide i use still manage to earn thousands whilst im stuck with the measly 100-200 gold?

    Hello,

I have a few questions but I will nail it down to one. If your strategy your “pipeline” involves buying when the current market value, is at a lower amount then what you know it will climb to in the future; isn’t this just the old style of buying low and selling high? Why do you need to dress it up? is it because you want to stump people, making them buy your guide or do you do something different from all the ways we already make money?

This may sound like I am flaming but i truly do want to know.

    Howdy,
Was wondering if you can do a 0g-1000g video (or 0g-10,000g even) on exactly how you earned each gold.. Show us step by steps on how to start small, and how to grow even further past 1000g (10,000g).

Your pipeline concept isnt too hard to understand, but applying the concept is where I become stumped. I do not know where to start, and how to grow. I have roughly 1200g combined across my three 80s, however I can never gain enough to cover the 400g/week im forced to spend due to upgrades in gear.. Good thing (getting new gear) turned bad (paying for new enchants/gems)??

If a video on your whole journey 0g-1000g (0g-10,000g) isnt possible, a video of you applying the pipeline to multiple items {or even a single item} with step by step instructions would be extremely helpful. Please and thank you, and a special note to the perfectly put together videos where ‘if i thought of a question during the video, you answered it right away’.. Almost as if you knew what I was thinking while watching it. Beautifully put together.

    Hi !

I’m saw some videos of yours. They are nice, but in real life, it’s simple like that.

I could buy all underpriced stuff, and relist for the real price. In theory It should work. But what happens, is that when you relist at real price, there will always be a bunch of idiots that will again list it again at 10%, 20% of the real price… And your effort to buy low and sell high goes nowhere.

Then i end up with many returned in my mailbox… So I still can’t find a solution for that.

If you have a trick, they are not yet in your firt videos.. There is something else missing…

    I hope you discover =)

My biggest problem with playing the auction house is buying items that don’t really sell. Even if there are a ton of them up and I undercut by a gold or two, they still don’t sell. I’ve heard people say buy enchanting items and sell them low but when I’ve tried that it’s never worked. So I guess my question is kind of two questions in one: How do you decide what items to buy and resell and when do you put them up in the auction house to resell them?

    Thanks

    Hi Jon,

My question is how do you use actioneer to sift through your pipelines quickly and or find new pipelines? How do you know what to look for? And also, how long does it take to gain the experience needed to truly master the market, like knowing how much stuff is really worth, will your blueprint teach me those skills?

    Hi Jon,

I’ve never really tried out any of the large gold guides, I’ve only tried to utilize tips people give about general gold making. Having a decent amount of gold to support my raiding needs, I haven’t felt a pressing need to devote too much time trying to figure out how to make the general buy low sell high methods to work, and I’ve generally given up pretty soon when I haven’t had any noticable results.

What I wonder is, how long would you say it would take for someone using your method for the first time to identify a satisfying number of pipelines and start profiting from them enough to feel it in their wallet?

And what would you say an average profit could be given different amounts of invested time and start-up capital?

Given the answer to these questions, I believe people like myself, who want know when they are to expect results, will feel more secure in using your guide.

I’m 51 years old a 100% serviced-connected disabled veteran of the U.S. Navy and I understand the principle of buy low sell high in the auction house. I have several characters who collect different items, mining, herbs, skins and sell the raw and refined or finished products: ie clothes. Is it easier to keep a character to just run the auctions as it appears from video 3 or just try to get everyone in to buy and sell? After keeping track of your free preview videos I feel I have begin to move the right way in terms of my gold making. I owe my success to the Pipelining preview video due to this giving me the best results. After the video I kept track of a few of your examples such as titansteel bars and managed to make 300g profit that week just by reselling them for around 50g extra. My question for you is how do you determine what a good pipeline to use is on a server. Do I need to track the item in the auction house for a few weeks to determine the selling patterns or is there some another method I am not aware of?

i am about to make lvl 80, i noticed on one of your vids there was a column on the Ah screen on the far right that gave info on the current demand of the item, where did you get this or is it part of the AH screen?

is there data at the AH that gives you insight as to what items to buy low and then get a good return on when you sell?

do you farm and stockpile items to sell at AH?

once an item moves below a good selling price do you just dump them for whatever price you can or do you stockpile them till price moves back into a good range?

Why do some people put cheap trash items on the AH for hundreds of gold? Just to confuse Auctioneer? To catch people who aren’t paying attention? It’s really confusing to find trash items at hundreds of gold but according to auctioneer I’d still make a profit if i bought and sold for hundreds more.

Hi, firstly, thank you heaps for your preview guides, whilst using them I have already managed to make a steady 1000g. It is much appreciated! :)

I have a quick question though, it often seems that selling an item for its “true” price as you state in your videos, will not sell it at all. I can’t understand how an item will sell if you DON’T undercut. Surely people would only buy the cheapest one available on the AH. So why is it that you can sell items for MORE gold than this? An explanation to this would be really helpful!

    Thanks in advance, :)

    1) Lets say i got a Titansteel Bar up on AH for 180g and thats the first one up, and i leave it for a day or so and people under cut it say like by 20g-40g should i leave it there or take it out and wait until the price comes up?

    2) How much gold should i spend on buying and then re-selling?

3)Should i take note of the lowest / highest price of the items that I am going to pipeline for my server?

4)Should i ever go out and farm, say saronite ore and then sell it for the highest amount possible?

    5)UnderCutting…… Should i?

How do you always get mats for dirt cheap prices? Like in your pipeline video you bought arctic fur for 15g!!!! It seems like everytime I buy something that auctioneer says is a good deal, the next day it’s much cheaper for instance I bought some infinite dust for 3g 50s thinkin I’d make some money as it normally sells for 6ish gold, the next day the price was down at 3g, and hasn’t rosin above 3g 75s since…. Plz help!!!!!!

I’ve been an active AH seller/player for over a year, and I have three questions.

First, I’ve come across a niche question concerning common vanity pets (snakes, cats, etc). Typically, I will put up one to two at a time. The upper range is 25g. I would rather sell fewer at higher prices but less frequently.

Recently I came across a player who came onto my home server to help out his buddies, and he would sell the pets for 10g each listing 5 or more at a time. His theory was that 20g and up was “robbery” and that for 10g, players who had alts etc. would be more likely to buy them pets too.

So the question is to do with thresholds. Have you ever played with balancing the volume of sales vs the amount you charge for each item. (This applies to vanity items and not pipeline items). For example, I can sell 10-20 pets per week at 20-25g. But would I be able to sell more pets if each pet was sold for less, and overall, would I earn more money. Perhaps this is a more relevant question for an older server where new accounts cannot be created and there are many veteran players.

As a secondary question, I have discovered a potentially interesting item to play with. It’s a faction specific recipe (Recipe: Kaldorei Spider Kabob) of which I can get high amounts of. I am doing the recruit a friend thing, and I can buy the items required to complete the quest (small spider legs) for very little. I ship them to a toon near the questgiver, and I create a new character on my recruited account. I summon him using the recruit a freind summon, and have him complete the quest. I then ship of the recipe to my ah toon and from there it goes cross faction. I can stockpile hundreds of this recipe over the duration of the recruit a friend. However, so far I’ve only been able to sell a few for 200g max. I’m not sure if this is worth my time. Only completionists seem interested in the recipe, and it is a very slow seller. This can also be done with the moongraze tenderloin recipe from a Dranei quest.

My final question is this: have you ever tried to completely control the market for a particular item. I’ve seen players do it with (I’m guessing) little success. For instance, one player on the horde side bought up all the white kittens and re-listed them for 500g each. I only had one kitten up, which this player bought. Of course I had many more in my bags. I immediately put another one up at a threshold price. Is it possible to dominate the market of a particular item? Will buying it up and inflating prices eventually backfire since others will always underbid you? I think this is only possible with high volume items that have become less readily available such as wool cloth or mageweave cloth. I think selling volumes are too high for times like infinite dust, for example.

    Would appreciate any comments.
    Thanks
    J

ok my professions r herbilism and alchemy and im always wondering if i should b selling the herbs or making flasks from them (elixir master). but the only problem is with making flasks i have no idea whether its gonna proc or not which is a bit annoying. its annoying cause i want to make as much profit as i can from my items (like everyone) but its unpredictable whether it will proc or not like it can proc for 10 flasks n thats a huge profit but it can also only make 2 which is shit. and another thing is seeing my an alchemist im wondering if i should buy flasks for raid/ buy the mats to make flasks and make em/ farm the mats and make the flasks. for the 3rd option i could sell mats then buy falsks or something so yeh just curious :)

    Hi, Jonathan.

I’ve bought gold guides in the past, including Warcraft Millionaire. I’ve tried to use the information that these guys post, but as you’ve said, some of it tells you how to work the auction house, and of course tells you where you can go out and farm for stuff too. I agree with you….I would like to just sit at the auction house itself and know what I need to do with pipelining….so far yours seems to actually hit the nail on the head and more precisely than the others guides I have. You said it in your videos so far….gold making should be fun; it shouldn’t feel like work. If I could buy your guide right this minute, with the bonuses, I would….I’m just not able to at the moment. When I saw you were offering a chance to win it for free…I told myself that I would have to be crazy not to take a chance at winning it.

I plan to eventually get it, because it is exactly the type of information I’ve been looking for….how to make maximum use of my time while learning how to make tons of money just using the auction house, and to have fun while doing it.

    Thanks!

I have used a lot of your tips and have had a lot of success for the most part. The main issue i have run into is people on my server seem to have nothing better to do and farm everything and simply undercut any auction i try to relist. My question is would it be wise to keep buying out any good priced auction and stockpile the items for later use or leave it alone. I have tried finding multiple items but everything seems to get undercut majorly.

Is it better to sell high-end crafting items (titansteel, tailoring cloths, heavy borean leather) right after a major patch comes out and be ahead of the competition, or wait a few weeks when more players get the patterns and crafters are more readily available (and risk more competition)?

I have been reading some of your gold making guides, some for the auction house and some other ones. I am having a hard time using the tools I have learned because there are just way too many people farming gold on my server. How can I do what I need to do to make gold when so many people are doing it?

I have been playing on that server for over a year and a half. I figured out some tricks of making gold myself in the auction house, but as time went by, the Auction house has become clogged with gold farmers.

Moving to a new server is not an option. All my friends play on this server.

    Howdy Jon,

You have just finished your session at the AH and now its time to play and enjoy the game. As you later killed an npc, you happen to come across a blue or epic item. You then later decide to sell it on AH but when you searched for the same item or even a similar stat one, you find nothing. My question: How do you know what to sell it for?

MASSIVE thanks Jon! Love your work.

Hey Jon, I’ve been watching your videos and they’ve been really helpful for my understanding of the auction house. However, on my server, the AH is kinda screwed up, for example Arctic Fur is over 100g per and there’s hardly any of it on the AH (lack of skinners perhaps) and Titanium Bars are really cheap as well.
So my main question is this, what are the kinds of items you have found most effective for buying low and selling high.
Also, seeing as I’m a JC and a Miner, should I be prospecting all my ore or putting it on the market?

What is the best time in the week to buy and sell? If I had to guess, the prices are usualyy more inflated during the week and diminished on the weekend, so buying on the weekend seems like the best time. However, the fact that more people play on the weekend should theoretically mean that more people are buying stuff from the AH and so by that logic you should sell on the weekend. So how do you know when to sell? Also, how can you easily spot a good pipeline on your server? Is it through looking about the AH or is there a really easy way? Thanks for the videos, they were great.

Some pretty good questions up here, and here is mine for you to discuss…

I would like for you to mention ‘when’ the best time is to look for certain types of items. For example, is there a certain day that flasks would sell really well (Tues. & Thur for example), or certain foods for raiders? If on the weekend I can get it cheap, then sell it on certain ‘known’ days, that would be worth buying and holding onto for those specific weekly occurances.

Do you have to start off on a new server to use this? I’ve had my account since WoW came out and I have the max amount of characters on my server. I am already torn on whether I should delete any to get ready for Cataclysm. I noticed from reviews of your guide that you use 6 alts just for your system.

I like the aspect of having enough gold to just give it away to friends. I play with family and irl friends and usually end up giving them the gold they need to get ahead…to my own detriment, usually.

I know from the first 2 preview videos that you make a lot of gold just from the AH. Massive amounts.

Do you ever spend anytime farming, or did you before you had the capital and experience to play the AH?

If so, do are there any specific types of items you looked for? (Cloth, meat, or just a group of random stuff)

In other guides there are different strategies where you farm a group for a certain item. Is this part of the blueprint, or does it not bring in enough gold/per hour?

    Thank You ,

    Hi Jon,
I asked a question about High population severs and I just watched you newest preview video and it seems you already answered it, wich is awesome.
Now I have a new question in your last vid (preview#3, pipelines) I have no doubt you can make 10k or even more gold with pipelines, but was wondering how much did you have to spend to make that much and if you have a low gold count like 500 gold are you limited to not making much with pipelines ( as you have told us there are more was of making gold) or can you make tons of gold with just that much.

I’ve been playing around in the AH for awhile now with the auctioneer addon. I make about 200-300 gold a day from my enchanting and JC, though this process takes me well over an hour. I look through items on the AH though my server is a high population server and competition is very steep for almost every item I look at.

My question is how do i get around competition? You mentioned simply changing pipelines when competition arises though whenever i find an item that seems profitable within minutes it seems someone has undercut me, is there a way around this or should i select items that sell at such a high volume that my auctions will almost always sell?

How big of an influence are professions to making real gold profit? I know a lot of guides tell you to go for herb/mining to make a lot of gold; and I’m sure that you make more gold if you use your professions than if you don’t. So here´s a question/challenge.

I play a Horde character in Ragnaros. Now I have been poking and prodding around forums and guides and I can say that the economy of Ragnaros is very strange. Prices refuse to change, items that require farming are very rare, almost as if people refuse to gather them. Arctic fur can sell for 160-200 a PIECE and people seem to not undercut each other. Raid days have no effect on raid items (flasks and whatnot) so, how do you “work” these type of servers? Is it even possible to “play the AH” here?

I have enjoyed your videos. they are very informative and have given me some ideas to improe my own gold making techniques. I want to take my gold making to the next lvl. Currently I can make 1000-1500 gold per week fairly easily, but as you know,it spends as fast as it comes in almost. My questions are these: 1. What craftable items would you suggest to keep an eye out for? I currently make quite a bit of gold doing this with just mining and blacksmithing, but would like to expand that with some other professions. Farming areas for the best drops in conjunction with dailies/quests/instances? I typically try to go through areas I know to have good drop rates for gear/cloth/items etc. enroute to instances and dailies. Just wondering what areas/instances to quickly maximize time and potential profit. Finally, What times of the day (server time) have you found to be the best for scanning the AH to buy items at the lowest prices? I know it depends on the sever. Just wondering if you could provide a general/broad overview of the subject. Thank you for your time.

Hey, I have just recently rolled a new character. A level 1 night elf hunter. One thing I never understand is that how can people at level 1 make money. I have a level 53 Belfie paladin on another realm and I cant even afford my epic mount. And watching your second video showing that small fish recipe just blew my eyes out of there sockets. Everyone tells me you can make money at 1 but they don’t tell me how. I am so used to creating acounts on the same realm and have my pally mail over some gold to them. But now since I wanna start rolling on the alliance side on a different server. I don’t know how to make any money any more. Since everything changes when you switch from horde to alliance. Th reason how my paladin got so much money is because when I was level 6 I was given 60g by my best friend who now unfortunately quit. Please help =(

    Heyy,

so I have been playing this game for many years now and have epic flying mounts on both of my level 80s and almost 2kg on a level 79 so i have a decent amount of gold. but i got all my gold by completing every quest i could and doing dailies which I think is boring and not the way I want to enjoy the game. I have tried the auction house a few times and I did what you have said is the wrong thing to do, undercut. I use most of my gold to level up profession which is very expensive so gold goes fast. I know theres no item that goes for a certain price on every realm because all realm economies are different but i want to know how do you find things that will sell. how can you tell if an item is in demand on each realm and how do you find what prices people are willing to pay for it?

    Thanks.

Jonathan, I’ve been with this guide for.. well i have been with you since the beginning. Check that if you can, Back onto topic i have watched all of your videos and i have a very basic idea of gold making and the auction house. But seeing as my parents would never let me buy your guide thinking it was a scam or a cheat. I have been forced to be limited to your videos which are very good but i believe only a fraction of what the guide offers. I have been in many a contest to win a blueprint but have failed. So i half-heartdly began writing this response: So here are my questions

. Where Is The Most Profitable Fishing Area?

Hi there nice video’s so far, my questions are more about getting set for using things like MGB since at the moment i dont use any.

How long would you reccomend scaning the AH with auctioneer before applying things such as the MGB ? surely you cannot rely on info from just 1 or 2 scans as the price could be far off the actual sales.

My main is a tankadin with JC and Enchanting would your guide have details inside to take advantage of these professions ? i know that i could go mass pull and farm area’s but thats not really using the AH but surely using professions with addition to “pipelines” or even being the end product used in the pipeline would increase the effectiveness of MGB ?

im not sure i have never used a gold making guide due to the relatively high sale prices many have and although i understand the time and effort put into them i am sceptical to spend $60 on something that after a week or so simply stops working due to others in the server adapting to what i impliment

Hey, just a quick question in regards to pipelines, i already make quite a bit of gold in other ways, but not as fast or as streamlined as you seem to. Um
    - Is it a good idea to leave characters to check vendors for possible valuable items,
-How many pipelines do u think should be active before it becomes to much,
-What are the different bits of Auctioneer, because sometimes they confuse me
Um thats it if u could perhaps answer one or 2 of those questions that would be great :D
    thanks mate

    Hi!

I am watching your videos with interest and already tried doing some stuff.
    My question is:
Should the bidvalue always be close to the buyout value? Else I see a potential risk in people bidding on the item if there is not long time left and winning it for alot less.

Hi my question is this i like to sell all my stuff on the auction house i buy at the lowest prices i can and sell and yet u say u can buy arctic fur at 15g each how is this is there certain points of the week i watch this item consistently and not once have i seen under 60g to resell and when u do go to sell how do u ever sell the items u need to when u allways get undercut?.Eg i sell glyphes everynow and then ill sel a glyph of Water mastery for 15g in the ah when no one is there whoever ill come back in an hour and b undercut for 5-6g by several ppl how do u do i it i dont get it i can never make over 600g coz by the time i get 600g i need raid mats or gems for raid geer seems to hard to figure out ? thanks for reading sory if i crit ur eyes for OVER 9000!

Is it better to Auction the Mats of Items in AH or Auction the item?

Since I am on a server filled w/ loads of raiding guilds would you say it would be more effiecent for me to harvest all my mats and make “x” during the week and then have most if not all of them ready to be sold on core raiding days (the days when alot of the hardcore guilds spend the day raiding). I’m wondering this because whenever I post items to sell on the AH it’s usually a hit or miss for the day, and if it was on core raiding days I would have more of a chance to sell, but then there’s also the other competion. Oh, and what percentage should I undercut by, because sometimes I’ve seen something for “x” gold and the other players have it up to 50% off. I’m kinda at a standstill here because I can’t really find a steady AH income; it changes between 50-400g a week (yes, I know that’s very pittiful, but all the more reason I NEED help from the “master”)

it is said that one persons rubbish is another persons treasure, and this work with the auction house aswell. you use the auctionator addon to calculate profit margines and to see what percentage of the average price and item goes for, but you have to figure out what items to sell for your self. my question is how long do you take researching an item before deciding its a worth while thing to buy and resell? also how often do you revise the items your selling to make sure your getting the most poffit as possible and to make sure the price that item is going for is still quite high?

I can’t find very good pipelines on my server. Most things are only being sold 10g less. And what do I do if I see a low price for an item, but it’s gradually lower. Like the next lowest for something is 40g then 39, 38, 37.. down to 30, instead of 40, then WOA a 30g without the in between auctions. I can’t find an auction like you buy for 16 gold arctic fur and sold for 40. Am I supposed to buy just the lowest and wait? I usually end up telling myself it’s just 1 gold, buy the next highest one, and buy them all and relist and I don’t think that’s correct.

Secondly, I’m a miner/engineer in-game. Which engineering items would be the best for me to create and sell for quick gold?

I play on a established server ( one of the first set established and I’ll be darned like a sock if I can identify consistant comodities that can be pipelined. A few questions for you:

-My server is filled with idiots (or so its seems) that constantly undercut my auctions and make it nearly impossible to sell for a major profit. What do you do about that?

-Also, in addition to auctioneer, what other addons should we download to make our gold making experience easier, faster, and help present the information in a more organized format?

-After about a week of using your guild as a help, and making gold off of it, i have noticed that on my server that a lot of prices stay steady. It seems that these players know the prices, and unless there is a ridiculous undercut, it seems hard to sell occasionally. Also do you go for only the major money makers, or (i.e.) Stack of Frostweave for 5g as supposed to a 10g standard?

    Jon,

First, well done on your videos. I like your different perspective on your “pipeline” concept, especially since you make it relatively easy for everyone to understand. However, there are a couple of things that have been bugging me when it comes to selling a few select items on the auction house.

I’m not new to the concept of “pipelines,” and I have several addons that help me with my day-to-day auction house chores, but I’m not making nearly as much gold as I’d like. When I first started to be really serious about making gold through the auction house, I tried investing in some weapons and armor of different ranks (greens, blues and purples), but no one seemed to want to buy them at all, for whatever reason. After several of them came back to me, I got fed up and just started sending them to my high-level enchanter to disenchant for materials.

Another thing that’s been bugging me is pricing certain items for a huge profit when there’s no competition for a certain market. I tried your strategy with the Bristle Whisker Catfish recipe, which has worked really well so far, but many of my toons have a crafting profession and I’d like to get a whole lot more out of those professions than I’m seeing, so I can start selling what I craft for bigger profits.

So, my questions to you are:
    1. Is there an effective way to sell weapons and armor of various colors (green, blue and purple) other than just the basic strategies that you have outlined (watching the market, as an example)?
    2. How do you determine how much people are willing to buy stuff for? I thought that this was an interesting concept that you brought up in a previous video, but maybe a few more examples of this and how to determine these prices would be a little bit more helpful.

Thanks for the videos. Keep up the good work.

givien the fact that ‘pipeline’ strategy is well worth trying, would it be suitable to farm some item and sold them? could you give us some advice about some worthy items which could farm within an hour or so and make good profit?

If some of the pipeline items aren’t available in our server, are there any rarer items which could be found in the auction house?
Is there a way or function of a addons that could help you find out the least competitive items?

    Hi,
I’ve been lagging behind you in terms of learning the hard way the best ways to make gold. Your videos have provided some shortcuts as well as confirming some of the strategies I already employ.

I’m seriously considering a purchase on Tuesday.

My question (comment) is wondering whether you cover some of the caveats in choosing pipelines. As an example, people will actually buy coal on my server, which is fantastic because of the low deposit. They will, however, also buy eternium thread but the profit is whittled by the larger deposit. If the thread doesn’t sell the first or second round, I would actually lose money. I dropped this as a pipeline obviously on my own and was supported by your video noting that this would not meet your criteria as a good pipeline….

So do you cover that level of detail? Like many others I’m hoping that this version or a future version will cover an in-depth breakdown of Auctioneer.

    Cheers!

    Jon, love your videos.
I purchased a gold making guide in the past, it was very helpful as far as learning the Auctioneer Add-On, but I have yet to amass “real” gold. I can make around 3K but never seem to be able to make real loot. Your methods seem to focus on the sellers mind set of not having to be the lowest price in the AH. So I tried that seemingly simple idea last night. I made nearly 1K by selling around the 110% avg. instead of the lowest price. Thank you for breaking me of always needing to be the lowest priced seller.
I guess my question to you would be; does your video series discuss specifics of the potential buyers mind set? What I mean is; how do I determine the types of items to watch for? Items that will sell enough volume that all the low end auction posters sell out and there is still enough demand that my higher priced items sell in the same period of time. Hope this makes sense, haven’t had my coffee yet?. Good luck to all in the profit making game.

How does one get “down to business” in the beginning of starting the Massive Gold Blueprint, that is, how does one begin research on specific pipelines. It seems like the market is too cutthroat in many aspects of the game that really are “gold makers”, like glyphs, and it also seems like prices are too volatile on most trade (enchanting and metal) materials. Essentially what I’m asking is: How does one make the jump from a few hundred gold to a few thousand?

    4) Reading the market is tricky business, knowing when to buy items that are in low demand at the time then selling them for 30-50g profit when they become high demand items… how can i start making the best possible hypothesis on what the market will do next, will this guide help with that?

    1. How can I be sure that my auctions sell, even when I list HIGH, to a price people are willing to pay?

    2. If I advertise in trade channel it will also draw the attention of the competition - is it a good or bad idea to annouce my auctions in trade?

    3. How do you deal with the AH campers that constantly cancels and reposts?

    Thanks,

You mention moving on if an item becomes priced too low. I have found that holding onto items I know will sell when the market becomes desirable can work as well. Do you stockpile items for this purpose to sell later on?

You talk about buy low and sell high, which is what the majority (and at the moment I fall into this) of players are. You say to not be scared and sell at what the players are willing to pay but what I did not see and would like to know is how does one know what that price is and how does one find the products at “low” prices?

So far I haven’t seen much difference between your information and other gold making guides in that all of them mostly talk about outdated money making ideas.

You state like many others that you cover current money making ideas and tips, but some of the stuff you show seem a bit dated at least on my server.

With how Bliz is constantly adding more and more things these days would you recommend selling rare materials or finished products more. I have many level 80s each with different maxed tradeskills, so i am wondering if I should invest in the more expensive patterns or just sell the materials nowadays.

    Dear Jon,

A question to pass by you in hopes of winning the drawing :)

When blowing through different pipelines, do you have a list that you use of commonly sold items to go through to be most time efficient, and if so, how highly do you recommend organizing different items to make the most of your played/gold making time and how often should it be updated?

    Hi Jon

I have been playing World of Warcraft for some years now and for about six months ago i got fascinated about making gold in the auction house, so i decided to try it out. I went on the internet to find all the information i could about making gold in wow. Unfortunately i couldn’t afford a gold guide, so when i had read almost everything possible about making gold in wow i jumped into it. I had a few hundred gold as starting money and I started of quiet nice, i made a few hundred gold a week and everything went smooth, the problem started when my server exploded, the popularity went from low to full in some weeks, with increased popularity came several persons who played the auction house which resulted in extremely low prices on the auction house.

Since i only can play 1-2 hours a day i can’t keep up with all the competitors who is driving the prices to the minimum. so in a couple of weeks my gold went from approximately 3000 to 0. So my first question is: how can i find a pipeline that is a steady and good gold maker.

However that wouldn’t stop me, this was when i first heard about “The Massive Gold Blueprint” When i saw some of you videos my first thought was “how can this guy make so many gold with such techniques” this made me think about my second question: How can i find items that will sell good on a high populated server.

i dropped gold making for a time and went back to my main characters when i realized that i have four different maxed out professions on two lvl 80 characters, which leads me to my third question: What Profession is the best when you want to make gold.

But still everything i try keeps going wrong… Now im Broke, can’t afford enchants, flasks and such for late nights raiding which means that i can’t participate in raids and do all the fun things i would like to do in wow. So Jon please help me!

    -Thanks

Your videos are very informative & explain simple strategies that really pay off. You pointed out that there are recipes you can buy from vendors cheap & auction high (mostly to people too lazy to travel to vendor on their own, haha). But there are also recipes available to alliance but not available to horde & vice-versa, probably other items as well. My question is do you ever advocate cross-faction trading, is there a sucessful strategy or is it just not worth the trouble.

I have been trying to be my own guild bank in a way. Have I been spending too much on the biggest and most bags in my bank and on my back? I average 16 slot bags on each slot and still use mail to alts to Return other items? I concentrate on armor and weapons to be used soon, items that could be used in my professions and only a little stuff good for health/mana/companion food. In the meantime although I’d rather be questing or in battleground I spend lots of time trying to build the basic professions that everyone gets.

    Hey Jon!
So I’ve been wondering if I should use the auctioneer feature, Snatch. I haven’t seen you use it in any one of your videos and was just wondering if it would make any difference to the way I make gold. Just in case you don’t know what Snatch does, which you probably do, Snatch is a feature that you can find on Auctioneer that helps you find great deals for you (without the hassle of checking your written-down pipelines!). Assuming you do a daily scan on the AH, you can input your “Pipelines” into snatch with the price you would like to buy them at, and you can enable whether it can be bid on, or buyout. With your “Pipelines” ready, everytime you enter the auction house it will tell you if any of those items are for sale! Please tell me if this will be a useful addition with the free tips the you gave us in your awesome preview!

    Thanks,
    Tristan

    Jon,
First question, would you recommend that you use a high level toon to occasionally access the vendors that a low level toon cannot access such as the blacksmith near Stratholme and send those recipes over to the low level toon for sale?

Second question, would you use the cross faction trading to move gold from one faction to the other in the case that you need a larger quantity of gold on one side or the other? If so how would you go about it? Is there a simpler way than using separate accounts to put up a sale of a junk item for a huge amount of gold?

BTW, great set of ideas and presentation

    Thanks,

How did you learn all this stuff, and come up with your system. Ive been playing a year, and have made 20,000 at one point just by happening on the right things to sell at the right time accidentely.
What do you get from scanning auction house, and how to determine what is a good buy or not for your server?
How do you become consistent with these methods?
How do you know what you should sale something for? You can total the items to make and get rough estimate, but what is it really worth on the market?

    Hi Jon,

I’ve been playing WoW for over 4 years now, but i’ve never thought about having more gold than i need, untill a few weeks ago. I’ve never bought an epic flying mount because i never needed it. I do hardcore PvP and some endgame raiding. I never grinded/farmed and concentrated on arena/raids thinking that I’d never need a flying mount anyways. I would usually just do some dailys, i actually managed to do all 25 in less than 2 hours and that would be enough for a day. But 2 weeks ago i came home a bit late and couldn’t do my dailys before raid, so i came unprepared. I ended up borrowing gold from some guy. I asked for 500 gold (flasks, food, repairs, but he gave me 1000g saying its nothing for him, since he had thousands. After the raid i asked how much gold he actually has and he showed me 120k + lots of expensive epics. He told me that he never farms and doesnt spend much time getting the gold. He taught me to use Auctioneer and gave me a quick run through on its basic functions. After 1 or 2 days trying to work the AH i’ve realized that i’ve been living in a shell for over 4 years now.. I didnt really know what to do, so i just went with the safest ways (search for vendor/prospect/disenchant items). I’ve started making gold slowly. When i reached 1.3k in a week of doing 20 minutes of auctions per day i went shopping and spent it all on gems and enchants, then realized that i have to start making it all again. I’ve also noticed that i don’t gain gold fast but my bank is getting filled with greens/ores/gems/enchanting mats pretty fast.

    So here is my questions:

    1) When is the best time to spend the gold?

I’ve noticed that all the gold i gain from the AH i immideatly spend on even more greens/mats etc., so i do own the gold but if i spend it i will get less gold back.

For example i start with 100g. I spend it all on items then sell them and get 150g back. I do that again and end up with 250g and so on. I end up with 1k+ and i start getting back some good gold per day. but i feel like the gold isnt mine because whenever i buy something expensive i have to star over again.

    2) When is the best time to put many items in the AH and when should i hold on to things?

While im doing my little buy-disenchant/prospect-sell buisness i notice how fast my bank is filling up with stuff that i already have up on the AH. I realized that the items aren’t selling at the same rate every day but i can’t figure out the pattern, so for now my bank is stuffed with all kinds of things while i have 50-80 stacks in AH already.

How about types of items (quest items, reagents (arcane powder), holiday stuff, weapons, gems, recipes, glyphs, consumables, bags, armor(shields, trinkets etc), and the items from gathering professions)?

Is playing the AH better than farming, and if so why?

What tools do you use to track your pipelines and successes? Other than auctioneer and beancounter, do you have offline spreadsheets or databases set up to do historical analysis of what items sell on which servers over what period of time, or during what particular times of year? Items which are particularly useful for seasonal achievements would seem to carry the highest profit potential during those events, but have you done any analysis to show yea or nay if they can be big sellers outside those events?

Does the currenly available software addons provide a way to track price variences for a selected item and the ability to save that data to a excel file or something like that. Ok, so I have a small amount of gold (320) to play the auction house with. But I want to know the main way you select what you find that’s easy to make big profits with, because judging with the amount of gold your make, You know the best techniques. I also want to lean how to use the auction house add-ons to the best of my ability. Being the low level that I am and how being able to focus on leveling, I figured that I’d strive for something else and I wanted to learn from the best of the best.

Ive been playing WoW for a bit of time now and i am able to get my hand on gold, however very very few of it and playing for hours in the auction house, in my attempts of buying low selling high every item i find that looks good and the auctioneer tells me i can make good profit of it i buy it repost it by the price auctioneer suggest and get my hopes up, weeks go by and not even a bidder comes, and the item i bought falls into the mess of items i was unable to sell and are now in my bank. I’m assuming you have enough gold to buy whatever you want 100 times or more, no matter what it is. So my question is: Would it ever be a smart move to buyout every single item in the AH of a certain item, then reprice it at a higher price, forcing players to pay more than what its worth?

For Example: On my server there’s over 12 pages of Infinite Dust. With the amount of gold you have, you could buyout every single one of those infinite dust. They usually go for about 3g each, but if you bought them all you could reprice them at 6g each. Seeing how everyone needs infinite dust, they would have no choice but to buy it at that price.

Would that be a good idea or a bad idea?

    Hi Jon,
One of the ideals of economics states that someone can be successful if they have power. One example of this “power” is knowing things that no one else knows.
I have found a way to get infinite dust quickly and reliably, withcout ever leaving my capital city, and still make a profit!
However, there is a few hurdle that i cannot seem to jump over, if you will.

The price of infinite dust changes quite a bit. I have logged on and seen the price be anywhere from two to six gold/infinite dust. How can i predict when i should sell my infinite dusts?
is there an add-on that can help me manage this, or an add-on that could help take items off the AH if i am under cut?

I am a JC and have been since I started playing again right after BC and I have made a lot of gold selling gems in the AH. After the WotLK came out I have found a lot more players doing JC and lowering the prices all around. Is there an easy way to tell when you should undercut the competition and when not to and is there something in Auctioneer that will let you know what items you have been undercut on so you can cancel the action and report, or is it even worth it? Also how long should I be posting my auctions for 12, 24 or 48 hours?

  366. November 8th, 2009

    | 9:56 pm

At the Auction House - Looking at the browser for the item you want to sell, do you sell it below what most people are selling it for or use the same prices? Is it fair to the other person if you sell for less? Lets say you craft a white cloth robe. You have increased the armour by 8. It is for level 8 characters. It is going for over 1 gold without emblishments. You sell yours for only 32g - 52g taking into consideration that most level 8’s don’t have lots of gold. Mine sell all the time, but I’m making only half what the other person is making IF he sells his. I realize this is only penny-ante but I have wondered if I am mean and unscrupulous by doing this. Hey,

Now I have bought a couple gold guides before and they were moderately effective. By their methods I was able to gain a few thousand gold, but the way they described things was vague, and basically boiled down to being a technique to buy low and sell high. One of the guides had me keeping a short list of items, maybe ten or twelve, and track their prices every day at specific times to discover their price spread throughout the week and then, in quite a few more words, it said to buy when you saw prices at the low end, and sell when you saw prices at the high end. Granted this was effective, but all in all, time consuming, and only got me a few thousand gold. They also pretty much claimed that you need gold to make gold. Meaning in the examples they showed, they were buying 8-10k worth of items and turning that around to make 5-6k profit. Almost anyone would find it easy to make 5-6k profit if I had 10-20k, and getting up to that would take several months.

Now, my question is, how in depth do you go into your guides and how effective is your teaching method? I know you have, as you said in one of your videos, 50+ hours on how to do things, but the guides I have gotten and seen before have all boasted real content. I am a very linear learner; I have to have step-by-step instructions, and no, I’m not talking about over-simplified instructions. I can’t learn how to make gold when all the gold guide basically says is “look at the price spread; buy low, sell high.”

In essence, I just want to know that I’m really going to be able to make tons of gold BECAUSE I am able to follow your method. I don’t want to pay $70 dollars for something that is going to make me 10k gold and take 4 months to do it. From the videos I have watched, it does seem like you will explain everything clearly, even though your free ones are an overview of your method basically an advertisement. I just want to have clear cut evidence that I will never have to worry about WoW gold and buy another expensive guide again!

** Off the record ** I understand that this isn’t exactly a question pertaining to gold making specifically, and I understand that there is a chance that might disqualify me from my chances at the free copy of your guide, however I feel this question might be very useful as a selling point in your next free video, and hopefully that might keep me in the running. =)

I play WoW because I enjoy playing the game. How do I avoid spending half of my game time making gold just to enjoy the other half of the game? It spoils the game somewhat to feel like the only way to suceed/enjoy it fully is to take advantage of others in the AH.

After avidly following your preview video’s, I am seeing a re-current theme.
Buy low, sell for maximum profit in minimum time. Great business acumen.
Coupled with the idea of pipeline’s, the “oil” of Wow, you really do earn money fast.
However, the recurrent questions seem to be:
    1. How can I identify these pipelines, and when is the best time to sell? Is there an add on that can tell me?
    2. How are you able to buy and sell at such insane prices at the right times?

I understand that identifying the pipelines is a mixture of common sense, a keen mind and a bit of luck, and you have already showed us some addons you use. (Beancounter)

So here is my question for you:

How are you able to accurately and efficiently recognize the “pipelines” of your server, that are consistent and don’t have wildly fluctuating prices?

    Other burning questions:
Should I match my professions to a realms AH pipelines?
What are some tips to minimize “gold” time, and max “play” time, while still having enough gold?
How can you accurately undercut and outbid the competition in AH, without losing a % to deposits for valuable mats?

    Thanks

What do you think about high returns crafting? I am new to the ah and just finding my way around the market so I don’t have a steady income yet. However, I do have some epic patterns on my lvl 80s that I can make about 400g profit per item. Even though these returns are intermittent, (I can probably sell about 1 a week), do you think it would be useful to mix this into the ah pipeline strategy or should I wait to find some good niches? Do you think it will make a difference in the long run?
I have a second question. In your experience, is it better to stay away from and item whose market price fluctuates wildly, as well as its saleability, or is it better to buy low and hope that it ends up at a profit level?

thanks for being so kind to create all those videos which are free and effective. I’ve earned about 1000 gold since. Other people would not be so kind to do such videos and create previews which you would update regularly looking forward to the next video! :)
Now for the question, how is it possible to break the 1k gold mark where i am at now. I tried using the titansteel pipeline but my server has them all at about the same price around 170g and some not less then 140.
    Thanks too in advance.

    1) Does Auctioneer’s Bottomscanner actually help you find underpriced items for resale? If so, what is the best way to use it?

    2) Is there any good way for Engineers to make Gold nowadays? Selling Nesingwary 4000s and Combat Shotguns does not seem to be as lucrative is it used to be, probably due to lower demand.

While I know how to sell on the Auction House using Auctioneer, I often find that certain items (saronite ore, titanium ore) sell better, in quantity, without the AH “cut” by hawking in trade channel.

My question: do you have a list of items that tend to sell better when hawked in trade versus placing on the Auction House and praying?

Inquiring minds want to know! :-)

    Two questions:

First, what do you think about “cornering” the market on something? I sometimes see someone do this with a common ingrediant or herb - they sell dozens of stacks at, say, 10g/stack, and if you put any up for less than that, they immediately buy it and resell it. Can people really make money that way?

Second - I am a casual player. I play maybe three-four hours per week. I don’t need to make 80,000 gold, and I don’t want to spend even 1/hour per day. I just want to be smarter about how I buy & sell things, when to buy vs. craft, etc. Basically be more financially sound in my WoWing. Is your guide going to help me with that?

    Thanks!

What are the top selling items for each professions.
for example whats the best Jewel crafting cuts to use you token on first to maximize your income potential
For leather working what epics sell the best (the hunter crafted seem to do good), whats the best selling armor kits.
What about the possibility of including some sort of spreadsheet where you could input the cost of the mats on your server and it would give you a list of the total cost to make an item. Would be easy to compare to the server price to see what you can easily craft for profit without even farming.
Whats the best addons for scanning the AH, yes i know auctioneer is great, is there any others that can be customised to just certain items or ?

Hi Jon and Dave .. (fellow Kiwi :) I have been following your methods for a week now, and I was wondering if every high priced sale sells ? And if so, am I to believe that I’m to gain wealth from the laziness of rich level 80’s who don’t want to go and farm a few of the basic items, and for that I should charge them an arm and a leg ?? As, I have been placing a few items on there for huge sums !! and they’ve sold !! Much to my supprise ??
And I noticed it wasn’t that hard to farm.
My last question, for now anyway is .. is a standard practice to keep putting up the price to a price to see what the market will bare ? As I have done so rediculously to see that someone else has even topped my price ? Also, is it better to sell in stacks ie, wool (20) or in some cases individually to hike the price still further ? What do you reccommend ??

I have the auctioneer mod but never realy used it, I found it anoying and didnt realy trust the prices it gave me, although I have still managed to get epic
flyers on 2 chars and made a couple twinks. I manage to make a good amount of money without it becasue I remember the prices of things in my head and i have some “pipeline” items as you call them that I buy and sell on a regular basis that help me make most of my money so I was wondering what are the important features of the auctioneer addon and how do you use them to save time and effort and ofcourse make more profits and if there are other addons you use then what are they and how do they work to our advantage. also I have looked into a a few other gold making guids and they talk about Ways to manipulate the Auction House so the items you sell will always sell and at the prices you choose so i was wondering if you know anything about that. Also wondering if it’s worth buying materials off the auction house and making items with them and then selling them or disenchanting them to make profit. And you say you can make 10k gold a week but what if you invested 10k gold per week, would you get even more out of it at the end?

At what point is it best to use the blueprint method? I understand that you could start any time really, but to get the method to work to its full potential would it best to get in at the start of a server?

I realise that each server has its own economy, and you are looking for your own niche on your server and then exploit it to the max.

Is it best on on a new server? Or will it just take time to find your spot on your server?

    | 7:44 am

Haha, Guvernor said exactly what I was thinking. 90% (and I’m probably being generous here) of these questions are absolutely retarded and answered in the videos.

Do I need a level 80? Pretty sure Jon was using a level 1 in all his videos.

How much gold do I need to start? 38 copper seems a nice starting point.

What should I farm? Nothing, this guide is about making money from playing the AH.

How much time does it take? 1 hour a day like the site says.

Will I make more gold doing dailies + farming as well? Of course you’ll get extra gold on top of what you make from playing the AH, it’s just gonna take you longer than 1 hour a day doing all the extra work.

Are dailies and farming faster? Yes and No. For the majority of you people out there just stick with the dailies because it’s clear from these questions you don’t even understand what the guide is about. For people who have paid attention spending one hour a day at the AH is immensely faster. I have yet to see anyone who can make approximately 1.5k gold per day in an hour of dailies/farming.

If you had to ask any of those questions then the guide is not for you or you haven’t even watched the videos and just saw an opportunity to get a free guide.

Anyway, my question; You say we can make this kind of gold in one hour a day. Do you have a specific time of day where you spend most of your time at the auction house or do you break it up into small chunks and check the auction house at regular intervals?

    Hello Jonathan!

My question is about your way to make loads of gold.
I have seen ur free introducing vids, but after those awsome tricks i got one question.
I hope i got it right.

You tell us in your last video about pipelines, i have little exp. about this. But as i got your explain, you mean that we should buy low, and wait for the price to go up. This normally takes about a week. And then we need to wait untill the price go down? I farmed 11k gold in 1weekend with mining/prospecting and buying enchant materials and selling chants on vellum III, Is it possible that several profession mixes can be more lucrative then purely focusing the buying and reselling?

Say if u got different chars like 6 80s with all different professions, is it possible that a mix of using different professions is the ultimate wow farming tecnhic?

However, very impressed by what ive seen in the movies, specialy about low lvls, made a lvl for fun on a realm, got 350g now on the char<3

How much will earnings and pipelines be affected with the introduction of new patches or expansions? For example, if Cataclysm is out tomorrow it might cause earnings to drop by a considerable amount, how much will it affect your pipelines and how long will it take for earnings to recover as before?

This is because certain items/recipes/enchants/etc. will be made redundant with new patches, and it might take some time for profits to roll in as players progress in game. Thank you for the free videos!

I make a decent income in the AH and with some of the pipelines that you illustrate in your free video samples. My question is this:

How much do you find server size affecting your methods and how do you adapt?

I am on a smaller, older, server and it seems to me that a lot of common reagent items and consumables just don’t sell much volume. I work to find other items as you say in your videos, it just seems to me that population size plays into things and I would like tips to adapt better and more quickly.

    Thanks in advance,

I understand the pipeline idea. But, there are on my realm, too many unknowing people that continually mess up the pricing for an item so often, I have trouble keeping anything going for more than a week. Then it takes weeks to get thing back under control. Is this normal?

So my question is this. Can your guide help me earn the little extra gold i want even if i don´t spent some time at the ah every day? or even can i expect the same result if i only go in to the AH every few days?

Hi, I do ok with the AH and using the add ons but still not massive amounts (enough to usually cover my needs but would like more ; ) but it takes much longer than just an hour usually as things seem to shift constantly in the WOW economy like in the RW. I wonder whats the best way to keep identifing pipeline items as things shift so that you can maxamize your earning potential. Love the free videos and have picked up a few things that will defin help. Thanks!

i have been watching your videos on making gold. the main question is that when you show yourself in the auction-house and you setting up stuff you want to buy i think you are using the auctioneer add-on. you say you are setting the prices to automatic buy the product when is comes into the auction-house?? and that you don’t even have to be there?? did i miss understand that?? i have played with auctioneer and cant figure that out. How do you set that up??

I also have a question. I am currently on a server with a lower population and as such there are wild swings in the economy. For example, this week wool would sell around 2.5-4 gold per stack but on the weekend the price tumbled to around 1 to 2 silver per piece (20-40 silver per stack). Is there a way to make money off of these when the server is so volatile and unpredictable?

Also, I find the AH flooded with goods on the weekend, how does one go about making their auction stand out with maintaining the market value of thier items (not undercutting the lowest piece)?

    Thanks,

    Hey Jon

I could really use a guide like yours, i have a full time job and i don’t exactly have that much time to play wow, so i could really use some quick gold with a hour played on the ah, since i constantly find myself short on time to make the money. i need to buy basic consumables and so on, i feel this guide would give me a much better chance to at least have consumable cash for my raiding and repairs.

I was once on the verge of quitting. I was browsing the web looking for my last hope and i saw you Jon YOU! i cliked in and new things changed my wow life forever, i simply love your work and your wow knowledge and this blueprint seems like the thing that can save my wow life the thing that can make people stop calling me “Noob that don’t have enough money to even have enough flasks with me when its raid night”

I realise and respect the fact that it will be hard to choose the 5 winners and i also realise that i almost have 0% chance of actully winning, but i have thought so seroiusly before commenting its just not funny. so please consider my questions which comes here:

How do you usually deal with morons that come online a thursday afternoon thinking “lets drive the prices in ah to the minimum?”

Out of all your techniques which ones have stood the test of being the most profit able ones?

lets say that i can sell 10-20 pets per week at 20-25g. But would I be able to sell more pets if each pet was sold for less, and overall, would I earn more money?

    Thanks

    Hello Jon,

I fall into your advanced player catagory. However, in viewing your videos I am learning a entirely new way to think about the AH. I see distinct trends arising around holiday events, and am quite certain you already know which these items are. My question involves anticipatory stockpiling of said items. How early should I be looking to start stockpiling? I know price trends suggest a skyrocketing boom is coming? I do understand this would be in addtition to daily purchases and auctioning of pipeline items.

Please help me become the best Massive Gold Player you can. I am already learning so much from your videos. WIth your help I believe I can get there. Thanks!

Where do you keep all your items? I automate loads of stuff and sell my epics at the weekend for higher price and use a “mail mule” character to send stuff to that’s waiting to sell then I can just click “RETURN” and get the stuff back to the auction house mule who does the auctioneering, but it sounds like your pipeline system would need huge number of bags to keep the stuff.

I’ve got all frostweave bags and all bank slots taken with them and it’s still not enough. I average 1700g per day but I’m still looking for ways to make more. Your method sounds different to mine.

Just wondering how you can know when to buy or sell some of the pipelines you’ve been talking about. Will you know because the pct has risen or went down or does the pct change with the pipelines because of its steady change in witch case you need to know the average price and just check it everyday.

My question is…. some time ago (like 3-4 months) the good way to earn money for me was farming ores at night
(not realy comfortable :/( But it was enough to get money for better gear and gems. But now a lot things changed, and i cant just get enought money! Everytime i change gear or i need to buy enchants it cost me too much! And i dont want to waste all night farming stupid ores!
So what should i do to earn more and confirmed money?
Should i change my professions (if yes, post me what should i pick)

Usually one of the things I stumble in using the AH is asking myself should I go ahead and buy my competitors auctions and leave only my auctions in the AH for a reassurance that my auctions will sell. Then of course I’m in a time race hoping that another player doesn’t post the same pipeline item I posted. So in doing this can this be worth it or like you’ve mention throwing out the money?

    Hey Jonathan,

Just wondering how many pipelines you actually benefit from each day? id like to see really how effective the guide can be. Ive seen two of you current gold pipelines but do you use these all the time or do you choose to use them at specific times like when there is major demand or if its seasonal? And you mention you spend about an hour a day making gold. Is this a generic routine with specific pipelines used or do you just mix them up to try to maximise your profits so you dont flood the AH?

Hopefully i got this in on time lol ^^

In your preview videos, you talk about a strategy where you purchase an item for a vendor for say 60 silver and then sell it at the AH for 10-20 gold. You also talk about players who list there items on AH for far below their value. My question is as a power gold maker, are you focusing on those players who do not do their homework or know the AH system and tools or are you focusing on higher level players who may have a decent understanding of the system but who do not do the work becasue they have deep pockets? Which group provides more gold making opportunities?

Do you just hope for someone to sell an item cheap so that you can sell it higher? what if that doesnt happen to often?

In your videos you sold items for a profit of over 30g+. Most of the items i see in the AH are underpriced by barely 80s or 1g. Is it worth investing in those?? or should i just aim for the high sellers which i just havent found on my server yet?

I have been watching and I have noticed that your pipelines look a lot like a monopoly as in you maintain being the only supplier of a good, so if someone were to also provide the same item for less would it benefit you if you were to buy the item and then post it under your auction for more money?

Hey, Jon. Love the guides, and the Canadian accent. I play on a VERY LOW population server with many auctioneer’s. Your system seems to be largely based on having numerous pipeline’s that you switch through based on competition, but on my server there is few items that actually move quickly. It is difficult to find enough pipelines to make big gold because of all the competition on the few there is. Anyways what im getting at is do you have any suggestions about beating competition and monopolizing a market?

My question is regarding your long term support for your product. Hey Jon, I have started searching the auction house this past week to try out your ‘pipeline’ method. But, I haven’t for the most part been finding large jumps in high’s and low’s of prices. Except for in the case of thing like Flask’s of Endless Rage.

I was wondering if in normal items like Titansteel bars for example, should I be finding price changes daily, where I will be able to buy some items in the morning then sell them a few hours later for much more? Or will these changes be over longer periods of times like having a week of high prices and then a couple of weeks with low ones.

Also do changes of prices form trends normally, where you can predict which days to buy in and which days to sell in? (Like sell Monday-Wednesday, buy Thursday-Sunday)

I was just wondering about the function of addons like Auctionator, I heard you talk about it briefly in one of your videos and was curious to learn more about. Is it necessary for maximising your profits on the Auction House because my computer is very slow and having too many addon’s causes big problems in-game so I try and limit my self to the neccessities.

How do you decide which items to pipeline? I know you mentioned wool cloth and I’ve seen it go extremely high in the ah. Do you farm the wool then sell it?

i just started my gold “farming” and i saw that frost weave was really cheap i bought out the stakes spent 400g about 8g a stack and re-posted for 15g a stack, then i checked my AH the next day and saw i was undercut very bad. my question is whats the right way to buyout, and how do you recover from such a big loss. and yes 400g is a big loss to me haha.

I was wondering in your guide do you tell us what are good ways to make money or good things to sell to make money?(very important which one it is) and do you say if you use certain addons to make purchasing items easier in th auction house?

I like looking for auctions that have less than 12 hours to go with a really low bid placing the item price less than 20% of market. The best items I found are metal/ore and herbs. I especially like it when the buyout is waaaayyy over priced, but the bid is really low. I have made some crazy profits doing this method with minimal risk. So, the question: What add-on can make this less painful to do? I use the Auctioneer right now and it is pretty complex and I haven’t seen a way to do this yet.

    ——————

    Justin

Just dump your frost weave as fast as you can to get back in the game. I did something similar with Truesilver just to get stacks placed on top of my auctions. Ended up taking a nice loss. I have learned to stay away from certain items that are flooded; ie there are lots of it, and the item is farmed frequently by players. I also, try my best to double my gold on anything I buy in the auction house at minimum. Seems to work well most of the time. I will go for less if I can get a quick turn around.

  496. Dirk

There are different amounts of time available (12h, 24h, 48h) at which you can place an item at the AH. Sometimes the AH fee can get quite high when you put something up for 48h. Do you ’switch’ between different AH times or do you always keep the same time (like say 24h) and do you take in to account the amount of gold lost when you don’t sell items that you’ve payed a high AH fee for?

Hey you dont need to reply to this comment, BUT I do want an email replying or something, I just did some math, 24(7)=hours per week(h) 10,000 gold/week (g)
    h=168 g=10,000
    g/h = gold per hour
    10,000/168 = 59.523…
So what this means is that your average gold per hour is 59g… Not that impressive, I could do better farming !

You mention that professions are not worth skilling up.
I have an alt with 450 in alchemy.. I bought in AH really cheap gems (Scarlet ruby, autumns glow etc) for just a few gold..
Then I transmute them into cardinal ruby, kings amber etc and sell them for around 130 - 160gl a piece.. I agree on the hazzle with the cooldown but it still gives me on only that char a profit of around 1000gl a week, while investing only between 70-120gl and 30 sec of transmuting the items aday. It doesn’t give me 10K a week, but I’m doing some AH work on the side as well,, but need to understand how to use the auctioneer and auctionator better, so in any case I’m looking forward to your guide
    Cheers /Fred

    Hey Jon,

Thank you for sharing your secrets with us.
My question is: I have about 4000g to work with and I can see the ebb and flow of some really nice items I could be using as a pipeline, but at what price do I purchase these items and should I buy a lot at one time or wait it out for a while and get them over time and post them all at once or just a few at a time? I can see the potentail but do not know how to begin and do I need a stockpile to begin my moneymaking? I would appreciate any feedback you have and thanks again for your time.

In the last speed gold run you where challenged by 10 other players to make the most gold in 30 days. The hightest amount over those 30 days was 8800G, you came in 4th with 4978G. Those are nice amounts but they’re far less than 10.000 a week.
How does it come that none of you (you included :-p ) didn’t make 10.000 a week or even 10.000 in that month?
This is not a negative comment, I’m just wondering why the amounts didn’t went up to numbers like 25.000 or higher when the MGB was used.

Hey Dirk - I’m trying to save my answers for the videos, but I better respond to this one right away, so no one gets the wrong impression.

    1. The Gold Speed Run II you are mentioning was in June 2008, before WotLK expansion, and the economy of WoW was much lower range in those days. My benchmark gold-per-hour then was 200 gph, and nowadays it has gone up to 1000 gph.

    2. The Gold Speed Run starts everyone from scratch on a new server, with no toons and no gold. Needless to say, it takes most of the 30 days to start building up a good bankroll and get some higher-profit pipelines going. 5,000g - 10,000g in 30 days, pre-WotLK, and starting from scratch… those were astronomically high numbers.

BTW, all 10 competitors made several thousand gold each in the 30 days. All starting at zero, with no toons.

    - Jon

P.S. - I’m not promising anything, but the idea is floating around to do Gold Speed Run III after MGB 3.0 goes live on Nov. 12… you might want to check that out :)

Hi there, I have looked at applying your methods to my gold making, all to no avail. I follow the idea that I grab stuff on the market for low prices, then wait for what I consider to be the peak of the prices to repost for profit. Only problem is I have 2 problems stemming from 1 problem. Basically, my servers economy is extremely stable, due to the high population, it is very elitist and people know what they are doing. waht this has caused is lack of fluctuation in prices, and although I only started watching your guides recently I have been following the economy for a long time now. I have attempted to purchase bargains but they all seem to be the ones with no buyouts on them, which hinders me as I cannot simply watch 48 hour auctions drain down. If I cannot find low prices on items which I have considered to be always in demand, how can I make the money without making 1 silver per auction. A lot of the problem comes from what can be called “flooding of the market” but everything that sells is extremely abundant due to the numbers of people, so very rarely will prices shift. Obviously people are undercutting each other slightly but the rate of which items are flowing out of the AH it struggles to make an impact on overall pricing range as the more “expensive” stacks are becoming the cheapest again as the cheaper ones sell extremely fast. I really need some help and so far I do not feel convinced that this guide can work for me. Any help is appreciated

What do u recomend to get started with playing the AH. Ive tried before but it always seems like i buy low and sell lower b/c people always come in and undercut me. - Flat Economy -
    I am wondering
~(1) Is it common to come across an economy that simply does not have the price ranges sought by the MGB (buy at ~50% and sell at ~100%)

~(2) How do you cope with such an economy that appears very flat on most items. The price fluctuations from highest to lowest are rarely more than 15% deviation. The only exception (on my server) seems to be on very low end mats which don’t offer much of an earning potential.

How can you know for sure, and feel safe, about how an item will sell? For example, on my server, i was thinking about buying out the 5-6 crusader orbs that were available and selling them back for about 50g more, but they had been there for a long time, and i ended up not doing it because i was afraid of simply losing that 5-600g. So is there any concrete way of knowing without camping the AH?
