2 Hours of Your Questions Answered - Replay

Tonight’s Q & A call ran overtime, nearly 2 hours by the time I was finished. Unfortunately, the audio streaming service died around the 1 hour mark… so nobody heard the last hour live.
It’s a good thing I was recording at my end.
The replay is now online (or you can download the MP3). It’s in 2 parts, each nearly an hour long.
I covered a lot of ground

- more limited supply item ideas
- what do you do after 1,000 Gold?
- what are the best gold-making professions?
- why not just buy and sell blues?
- what are the best items to make profits in the auction house?
- does this still work just playing Alliance or Horde alone?
- and much much more!
I started speaking faster and faster as the second hour went along, and I realized I couldn’t possibly get through all the questions. I had more than 400 via e-mail and about 100 more posted to the live call page. I hope it’s not so fast that you can’t understand me.
At least all those questions have given me plenty of ideas for stuff to talk and write about in the future.

Wasn’t that horrible elevator music? I didn’t get to hear it until later when I tried to figure out what went wrong. I was just talking and talking for an HOUR after everybody had been bumped and nobody could hear me.

I luved the call, and so glad to hear the rest that I missed the first time - too much information! haha
One thing though, you’re wrong about no new servers starting from nothing with no xfers. Cairne started out at zero in March or so.

Jon - thanks for the audio.
Suggestion - make your audio sessions no more than 20 - 30 minutes maximum.
The Podcast community have gradually worked down to this time frame as being the most optimal for the broadcaster as well as the listeners. It forces content to be tight and kept to the point. Post editing is easier.
20 minutes slots are easier to manage specific topics, you can divide all questions into general groups, then answer groups of questions over 20 minutes etc.
Managertools.com does this very cleanly and their format is a good model to follow.

Those are good ideas, and I’m definitely going “bite-size chunks” in the actual Blueprint content. Module 1 (week 1) for instance, consists of 20 separate videos, durations ranging from 5 min to 35 min, depending on the topic.
For audio, which I’ll be using mostly for Q&A sessions, I’m not so sure. Considering I got 500 questions for one call, and people haven’t even seen the Blueprint yet… I don’t know, “Epic” calls may be the best way to get the job done.
I’ll think on how to do the most convenient packaging, so I can get everyone’s questions answered. More and smaller may be the way, after all.

thanks for the very good and interested audio session, learned a lot of new things. Looking forward of the release of the blueprint and to hear more in the future.
The the suggestion above of having the sessions in 20 min. files is a very good because it’s a little bit difficult to find special parts of interest in the files of today.

My partner player & I are excited to start the gold challenge tomorrow! Since we each only have 1 account, we’ve staked a new server & opposing factions & I have been reviewing the videos so we are ready to go.
