Reset Auctioneer

Auctioneer: Reset Auctioneer’s Scan Data

(Run time: 24:47)

Every now and then, you should reset and restart your Auctioneer scan data. Auctioneer’s data storage and file handling is quite robust, but the files become very large and there is a real possibility of corruption and data loss. It’s also a good idea to reset the “baseline” of historical data so that the numbers and values you see will line up properly with the current economy on your realm.

I recommend you reset the Auctioneer data files every 3 to 6 months. And you should also make a fresh start after major game-changing events, such as an expansion.

One question: What about the “Reset Data” option of Auctioneer itself? Why not using that?

    • Jon says:

I don’t think there is any reset data option in Auctioneer… unless I’ve been somehow missing it all these years :)

Beancounter has a setting that purges old data before a threshold date, but I haven’t ever used that.

Let me know if I’m missing something!

Hey, my fast getall scan in my auctioneer doesn’t work fast anymore. I have a pretty powerful pc. I have a gtx 280 graphics card and 4 gigabytes of ram and a motherboard that costs what is equivalent to more than 200£. (That’s 200 english pounds. I live in Denmark though.) It is a good pc and I have been able to run getall scans earlier without problems!

What is the problem. Have I made some errors setting up auctioneer? Would it help to reset auctioneer?

I installed auctioneer in late december 2010, I beleive.

I have just tried to lower all the video settings in game and that didn’t seem to help.

    Anyone?

    • Jakob Soby says:

      Hi again,

I think I have solved the problem myself. I just logged out and clicked on addons in the login screen and went through the checklist for the auctioneer addon and I think it was beancounter that was unchecked. I checked it and went back to the game and made a getall scan that took 54 secs. I guess this is good enough. :)

For some reason i cant watch this video, it says “video cannot be found or something”. Please help

Jon notice that u still use the simple and purchase stats in your tooltip setup which requires stat modules to be enabled. VekTor recomends that all these are turned off to use purchogramm only. what is best fit since both are obviously useful

    • Jon says:

I prefer to keep at least Simple running. It is distinctly useful, in spite of all the shortcomings of looking at “average” data. As long as you understand what “Simple” and “Market Value” are giving you, and don’t use them to actually set buy and sell prices, they are useful reference points.
