Cataclysm has brought significant changes to the vendor buying opportunities throughout Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. One of those changes affects the Throat Piercers. As of patch 4.0.3a there is now a level requirement to be able to buy this item; you must be at least level 14.

The throat piercers are no longer sold, may change with patch 4.1 being released. Vendor’s items-for-sell window is blank.
They are still being sold. However, it is a limited supply item which means it won’t be on the vendor every time you visit her. But with the price you can get for it on the AH, it is worth the trip(s) to see if you can get it.
