The Feast of Winter Veil begins on December 15th (Thursday in 2011), and it runs through to December 31st. And once again, the frenzy around Small Eggs is with us again – for a day or two at least.

Once again in 2011, the Small Eggs are flying from the Auction House shelves! A powerful tactic for getting ahead of your competitors is to use your starting bid price to undercut them, while matching (rather than undercutting) their buyout price. Your auctions will usually sell first, even though your price is actually the same. This prevents unnecessary undercutting, so you won’t be contributing to the inevitable downward spiral.

Small Egg Market Update and Options

The Small Egg frenzy is on, and results are all over the map. Some servers, it’s easy sales, and I’m getting reports from MGB’ers of eggs selling fast at high prices. Other servers… the auction house is flooded with eggs, and you’ll have trouble getting your share of the sales.

In this short video, I show you an excellent option that may save the day for you, if you haapen to be on one of the egg-flooded realms (faced with foolish competitors selling at low prices even).

Instead of selling the Small Eggs “raw”, cook them up into the finished Gingerbread Cookies. That’s what everyone needs, in the end, to complete the basic quest (turn in 5 cookies).

You will probably find little or no competition for the cookies in your auction house, even if there are 30-plus pages of raw eggs (as you’ll see in the video).

Pop a simple message in the Trade Channel now and then, and you should be able to sell your eggs out… as cookies.

Small Eggs During Winter Veil

Small Eggs are mad money makers during the first day or two of Winter Veil.

Small Eggs are always a big Winter Veil gold maker for players who stock up ahead of time. Most of the year, you can buy Small Eggs for 50 silver each or less, possible even as low as 10s. During the Festival of Winter Veil they go for 3g – 5g in huge quantities. This is because they are needed for the simplest Winter Veil quest (Treats for Great-Father Winter), which every player and toon will want to complete. It takes 5 Small Eggs (which you make up into Gingerbread Cookies) to complete the quest.

Even if you haven’t stocked up on eggs ahead of time, you can make a huge windfall profit of gold if you act fast and decisively
