This is a classic by-the-book category, and a good place to look for “intermediate” level pipelines, once you’ve got the basic technique in hand. Take a little time to observe the market following my standard pipeline methodology, and you’ll likely find some good gold-makers in this category on your server. Take a look and see how it’s playing out on your server, and then go for it.

In the Cataclysm era, you’ll find surprisingly high prices for pre-Cata elementals that are in short supply but still in demand… such as Essence of Air, Primal Air, Primal Mana, and Eternal Fire. Once you have plenty of bankroll, and confidence in your pipeline trading skills, there is huge gold to be made with the Cata elementals: Volatile Air, Volatile, Water, Volatile Fire, Volatile Earth and Volatile Life.

Eternals Conversion from Frozen Orbs – Cataclysm

One gold-making tactic from Wrath days that has survived well into the Cataclysm era is converting Frozen Orbs (which are now quite cheap) into Eternals. Eternal Fire is a good example, now much higher priced than it was during WotLK. The profit margin on the Frozen Orb to Eternal Fire conversion is excellent, although the volume of sales is low-to-medium.
